  • Heels

    This class introduces the art of dancing in heels, blending elements of sassy jazz, jazz funk, and hip hop. We'll cover key movement patterns and teach a piece of stylized choreography. Suitable for various levels, some dance experience is helpful but not mandatory. While heels are suggested, sneakers are also acceptable. Choose clean, comfortable heels for an enjoyable and confidence-building dance experience.

  • Tap Workshop

    Come join us for a tap workshop where students will get to work on their technique, rhythm, and learn new skills. Students will workshop different rhythm exercises, learn challenging sequences, and will be taught some fun choreography!

  • Old School Hip Hop 80s & 90s

    Step back in time and groove to the infectious beats of the 80s and 90s with our Retro Groove Old School Hip Hop Dance Class! Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of hip hop's golden era as we pay homage to the iconic dance moves and styles that shaped generations.

  • Flexibility

    Join us for a targeted flexibility session designed to enhance your dance technique and overall range of motion. We’ll start with a warm-up to safely prepare the body, then move into focused stretches and drills for legs, back, and core. By the end, you’ll have a set of at-home exercises to reinforce your progress and maintain your flexibility gains between classes. This supportive environment is perfect for dancers looking to move with greater ease, fluidity, and control.

  • Aerial Workshop Sling Choreography

    Take your aerial sling practice to new heights with our Aerial Sling Choreography Workshop! Designed to blend artistry and athleticism, this class will guide you through a creative sequence of spins, transitions, and poses. You’ll learn how to seamlessly connect movement phrases and interpret music while emphasizing safe technique and proper alignment. Whether you’re a seasoned aerialist or just starting your sling journey, this workshop will help you build confidence in the air and expand your choreographic vocabulary. Get ready to soar, dance, and express yourself in this dynamic aerial experience!

  • Contemporary Jazz

    Contemporary dance is all about self-expression, storytelling, and freedom. It pulls from traditional dance styles like Ballet & Jazz but breaks away from the strict techniques and movements that make those styles so recognizable. This workshop will have a strong emphasis on improvisation and different improvisation techniques.

  • Musical Theatre Workshop

    Join us for this open-level Musical Theater workshop, where dancers will develop acting and performance skills through fun drama and improv games, then learn a high-energy routine inspired by iconic shows like Newsies, Wicked, and West Side Story. It’s the perfect chance to refine your storytelling, stage presence, and creativity—all while celebrating the magic of musical theater!

  • Pilates Fusion

    Discover a powerful blend of traditional Pilates principles and modern fitness techniques in our Pilates Fusion class. We’ll focus on controlled, core-centered movements to improve strength, stability, and flexibility, while adding dynamic elements from yoga, dance, or functional training for an engaging, full-body workout. Perfect for all levels, this class will help you build better posture, alignment, and overall body awareness—enhancing both your fitness routine and daily life.

  • Acro Workshop Bridges & Cartwheels

    Join us for a high-energy Acro workshop focusing on cartwheels, bridges, and related skills! We’ll cover essential warm-ups, technique tips, and progressions, including foundational drills for aerials and front/back walkovers. Whether you’re refining basics or aiming for advanced variations, this session offers a fun, supportive environment to build strength, flexibility, and confidence—equipping you with the tools you need to elevate your acro practice.

  • Student Intern Training 1 and 2

    Workshop 1 is for new student interns workshop 2 is for those who have completed at least a full dance year as an intern.

    The Student Intern Training is open to all SCD students ages 11+ who are interested in becoming a student teaching intern. If you are a current student teaching intern you are required to attend the training. Only students who attend the training will be allowed to intern in the summer or fall.

  • Modern Improv Workshop

    Dance improvisation (commonly known as improv) is the process of creating movement without pre-planning any steps or choreography. Free movement is a great way to have fun, relieve any stress and explore new ways to move and the best part is there are absolutely no rules! This class will help dancers improve their improv skills using different prompts and themes to help discover their movements. They will be working in the style of Modern as they explore their improvisational movements. This class is open to any Modern student with at least 3 years of experience.

  • Conditioning for Dancers

    Description gElevate your dance performance and reduce injury risk with our Conditioning for Dancers workshop. We’ll use targeted exercises to build strength, stability, and endurance, focusing on key muscle groups and proper alignment. Expect practical, dance-specific drills that improve control and stamina, helping you perform with greater power and precision. This workshop is perfect for dancers of all levels looking to optimize their training and maintain a healthy, resilient body.
