Anna Wasson, B.A.
Ballet

Anna started her early training at Northern Ballet Theater in Nashua, NH. She later moved to further her training at Southern NH Dance Theater in Bedford, NH. There, Anna performed many corps and soloist roles in the Nutcracker, as well performing corps members roles in Le Corsaire, The Magic Toyshop, and Giselle. She also performed soloist roles in Angelina Ballerina, La Bayadere and Pas De Quatre as well as many original classical and contemporary works.  While training at SNHDT, Anna attended and performed at Regional Dance America and received scholarships for other dance programs in the country.

In 2009 Anna began training at University of NH. She was a featured member of the ballet company while also completing her major in Family Studies concentrating on the young child. During her time at UNH, Anna also performed with various studios in the area as a guest artist in the Nutcracker. She also performed with Annex Contemporary Dance Company in many local performances and taught young children’s classes at Portsmouth School of Ballet.

After graduating UNH, Anna taught full time at Portsmouth School of Ballet. She taught ballet from young children up to adults and took on the role of Sugarplum Fairy in the Nutcracker. Eventually she shifted to working in childcare centers where she created young children’s dance programs for the children in attendance. This included creating curriculum, weekly classes and in house performances. After taking a small break to spend time home with her children, Anna is excited to be back in the studio to share the her love and knowledge of ballet!
