John Ling Joins SCD Faculty

Rochester, NH Aug. 10, 2010–If you were lucky enough to see last year’s sparkling Nutcracker ballet at the Rochester Opera House, you’ll surely remember John Ling as he and the Sugar Plum Fairy mesmerized the audience. In a great piece of news for the community, John has joined the faculty of Sole City Dance for the 2010-2011 season, teaching advanced ballet as well as a boys’ and men’s ballet class.

John currently lives in Moultonborough, NH, but his history roams in interesting and impressive ways: trained at the famed Joffrey Ballet School, the NY Conservatory of Dance and the NY School of Classical Ballet,  he’s performed professionally with The New York Dance Theatre, The Eglevsky Ballet, The Lumiere Balet among many others.  While primarily a ballet dancer, Mr. Ling has also been trained in Jazz, Hip-Hop and Ballroom dance, making him a dynamic and versatile instructor.

John’s students adore his classes and we are really pleased he can join us this season,” say Sole City program director, Christine Hounsell.  “Students who know John will travel far and wide to take his classes.  His teaching style includes not only discipline and strong technique, but a sense of humor and a true love of the art form.
